I just finished this book and boy was it good. It encompassed everything that I look for in a book. It had mystery, romance, humor, and drama.
Debbie Sue Overstreet is the stereotypical west Texas girl, born and raised in a small town called Salt Lick. She once was married to what she still finds the sexiest man in texas, and happens to be the Sherriff of this small town. Debbie Sue owns a small hair salon and therefore is the center of the gossip line there.
When a muder happens to someone they know they whole town stops by to see what the latest scoop is. With all this going on Debbie Sue has to figure out what she wants in her life and also who. She has to get rid of the demons from the past as she is dealing with everything else under the sun going on in this small town.
Just finished this book after seeing a lot about it on different social media platforms. I have never felt so cared for by an author as I did reading this book. There was something about her writing style that just made me feel the soft music in the background and the low, soothing voice as I was reading. I enjoyed the insight that was given by the author. A good read for anyone struggling to do what they think they should be doing.
Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman seemed to be a good book. Its a good idea but it was just a major rant. And of nothing in particular either lol. What ever popped in his head at the time he was writing is what he ranted about. Couldnt stand it, sounded like a kid whining the whole time i was reading it
This was a fantastic start to a series and debut novel for E.J. Eden. The storyline was gripping, characters were likable and easy to connect to. There were some more “adult” parts of the book but those were done very classy and made the story that much more interesting. I fell in love with the world Eden is creating as well as those living in it. I can not wait for the next book to be released
Another hit by Janet Evanovich. I am never disappointed with a Stephanie Plum book. I love the characters and the exploits they get into. I always come away from the book happy.
As someone who has actively tried to read Stephen King's works previously and wasn't able to for many reasons, I was a bit timid in trying this book. I have read the reviews and continued to hear about it and decided to give it a try. Much to my pleasure I really enjoyed this book. The world that was woven with the author's words was one that I just fell in love with and was invested with those in the world very quickly. The story played out at a nice place and I feel like all the storylines were wrapped up. I could predict a few things as they happened in the story but there were several twists and turns that I didn't see coming.
For someone who hasn't read King's works previously, I was very pleasantly surprised with this book.
Yes yes it did hurt. I have never had such anxiety while reading a book as I did with this one. Anxiety and enjoyment ... think I was feeling it all all at the same time. Definitely a must read.
Here I was thinking this was going to be a feel-good Christmas story! Boy, was I wrong, and for the best reasons. I really enjoyed this story and the family it followed. It's not every story that takes a look at the multiple background stories while maintaining a focus on the main character.
I laughed, cried, cringed, and blushed while enjoying the very well thought out storyline. I'm hopeful one day to see a sequel to this book.
What a great series!!!!! A total surprise and change from other books that i have read that have been recommended to me! Really makes you think of what you would do if this situation would happen to you while enveloping you in the story and connecting you with the characters like you have known them forever. I cant wait to read the rest of the series and other books from this author.
This was a quick read offering the reader a great escape into a magical world for a while. I really enjoyed reading this story and Kat was a fun character that made me look forward to reading more in the series.
Great Book!!!! Laugh out loud funny, A great and quick read. Loved it!! Would definatley recommend to anyone. This series is a must read. Can't wait to read the next one!!!!!!
Ok I have to admit that I picked this book from Kindle Unlimited randomly based on the cover. I didn't know what the book was about nor did I know who the author was or what they normally wrote. I was at work and needed something to read quick, fast and in a hurry so this book was chosen based on the cover only.
Now ... with that being known boy was I in for a pleasant surprise! The characters, the world, the story I was deeply entranced in it all very quickly. There were some parts of the story that I thought I knew were going to happen and then a spin would happen and totally throw me for a loop. The character development was on point and got you connected to the characters quickly but without being rushed. As the story progressed you fell in love with no only the main story line characters but also the secondary characters as well. I am a total fan of this series and also the author!
Well done, very well done! 12 out of 10 .. would recommend!
This was sent to me as an ARC. It is a debut novel about a cake decorater that becomes and investigator when she finds a dead body.
When I first read about the book, my thought was, “Oh great, another culinary mystery.” But I was pleasantly surprise. Yes it was a culinary mystery but it was its own book. I will definitely read the next in the series.
wow this was great. one of the best in the alex cross series. As soon as I thought i knew who the killer was it proved me wrong. There were times in the book that i thought i would start to cry but then was smiling in triumph as James Patterson did it again with the emotional attachment that he is so go at. A must read for any suspense/mystery lover.
With all the talk of this book, I had to read it! I was not disappointed. The characters were all ones I could relate to and think even the personalities of the four could all be parts of each and every person and depict different needs that we have as humans. I enjoyed the story and how it played out even if the FMC was a tough girl to the extreme, it kind of made me feel that I could be as bad a$$ as she was somedays.
All in all a great read, hopeful there is another coming out to continue the story, I need to know more about the Vipers!
New Finish!
Ruthless by Vi Carter. The second book in the Wild Irish series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story follows Conner, another brother, on his journey to find answers. As he looks for the answers he meets a girl that will throw a wrench in all his plans for his life.
I really enjoyed this story and can not wait to find out more about Connor and Ava, as well as the rest of this family. As the author spins the story of the one brother we also learn more of the family as a whole. The book will keep you page turning and hungry for more of the Wild Irish.
The story started slow but picked up quickly. It's an excellent read and can't wait to read more of this series. The world-building and character development have me invested in the main characters and the side characters.
Show up on the doorstep, he thought.
Say hello, he was planning.
Until it actually happened and everything went wild!
This was a great installment of the Cerberus MC series by Marie James. This story follows some of the “Cerberus kids” as they grow up and learn what it's like to be adults. I was gripped by the storylines and the characters from the first couple of pages. There were times that the spice was there and needed but I really enjoyed that there were times of sweetness and romance. This might be one of my favorites so far in the series.
I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I would definatley recommend this book to anyone who needs a true escape and likes a little drama so long as its not theirs.
Went in blind to this series and absolutely adored it! The characters were likable and the emotions they evoked when the story unfolded were great! Can't want to continue the series.
I finished this book last night. I really enjoyed it. I def will try another in the series. I really thought that i knew who the murderer was but boy was I wrong. A great start to a new series for me.
Good book. Kinda similar to the stephanie plum series but not as good. i will def. try the rest in the series. Some great laugh out loud moments in this book.
Another great installment for Lily and her crew from the isle. This book had some great action and some twists I didn't see coming. Also I'm hooked to see what happens next in some of the story lines that are being built.
I got this as a Advanced Readers Copy and was very pleased with it. Benjamin Mee and Weinstein Books has a sure fire hit on their hands with this book!
Some parts of the book were emotionally tough to get through, however by the time you get to that part you already feel that you are part of the family. You also begin to feel as you are part of the team at the zoo.
Benjamin (not to be confused with his father Ben) goes looking for a better place to live with his family and ends up buying a delapitated zoo. In this memoir, you follow his entire family through the trials and triumph of owning this zoo and trying to get it up and running while knowing nothing about running a zoo. He is used to being a journalist but takes this task to hand as if he is a old soul in the zoo business.
I felt that I was there with them because of the great flowing writing style of Mee. I wish we would have learned more about the animals as well as the rest of the family in the book but overall it was a great book
