Tombstone T. Tromboners

A very interesting collection of short stories based on the premise of a thing called the Machine of Death that tells people exactly how they die. Or list every cow as Delicious Cheeseburger. I'm enjoying it quite a lot, with the varying mood of the stories, from hilarious shit (like “HIV from Machine of Death needle”) to terrifying and depressing (“Starvation”).

A fantastic novel following the aftermath of the Human-Covenant War, dealing with the political drama and following a team called Kilo-Five working an ONI op to arm Sanghelios insurgents to destabilize the planet and keep it embroiled in conflict and civil war so the UNSC can have the upper hand on them. Also directly follows Ghosts of Onyx and resolves what's going on in the Forerunner shield world.

The book lacks any real physical action, so don't read if you're coming for that, but if you want extremely interesting political insight into the Halo universe post a three decade long war, Human and Alien relations, and ONI black ops? This is the book for you like it was for me. Extremely excited to read the Thursday War.
