This was my first LitRPG and I found it really entertaining. The MC is like revisiting a starting area after you finished a game, wholly overpowered, but it becomes a kind of joke.
It's mostly action with a lot of plot armor and don't forget the ladies love the MC. I would not say there is much if any character growth.
Enjoyed the book overall but I was annoyed by the constant winning against all odds.
Like the sword fight. Vis hasn't held a sword in 2 years. He also hasn't used this will imbued training technology before. Oh, and there's also some fixing of the fight going on.
You're right, it makes sense that he would be so much better than the grand champion that he barely concedes a hit.
Otherwise, I enjoyed the writing style and I am curious where the next book will take us.
It was a fine story if you get over the very bland characters and push through to get an understanding of what the heck is going on with the forest. It feels like some of that could have been presented earlier in the book but whatever.
I feel like so much time was spent “learning to control magic” for the first and second daughter for it to end the way it does.
What's the point if the wolf takes all the power and becomes super forest god. Then we don't even get to know what's really happening with the battle as second daughter splits away to find the first daughter.
First daughter is also somehow trapped in a coffin and instead of using her magic she is being used for it? What?
At the end of it I just have questions but no desire to read more to find out if there are answers. I will not be reading the next book in this series.
I really enjoyed the first 5 or so books of this series but they really started falling off in quality toward the end. This last book was honestly not great. It felt like everything was needlessly rushed and split up for some strange reason.
All the previous books it felt that the strength of the druids came in the form of teamwork and yet during the biggest fight of the series two of the Druid's are off on fools quests.
Kind of a let down of an ending.
Enjoyed it. I viewed it kind of like the journal of someone playing a mmorpg. A lot of it is a bit ridiculous and childish, but that's my experience with mmorpg too.
I feel like more time could be spent explaining the skill system, it felt a bit made up as we go.
For such a lengthy book it is odd that we still have a ton of loose ends. It seems our MC may be growing up, but we'll have to see if/when the next book arrives.
I will say, there are a lot of typos and repeated words. So it doesn't feel like it was edited very well.
