M. Gelle Abdullahi

I read one of Elmore Leonard's latest books, 10 Rules of Writing, and then decided to start with his early works as a warm-up and decide if I would read some of his books or all of them. I think now at least I will give each one of them a try.

This collection contains one of the best western stories: 3:10 to Yuma, and it was captivating. Another story that I liked a lot was Apache Medicine.

This edition is just wonderful, as it includes two short stories (from the Night Shift collection) One for the road and Jerusalem's Lot.

My first time reading a Stephen King's book. I was anticipating it to be a good story but nevertheless it surpassed my expectations.

It is action packed, fast paced and have good cliffhangers.

I had so much fun reading it.
It took me back to my childhood, and had almost the same experience when I watched the movie for the first time.

Aurelius begins the book beautifully by showing gratitude to those who raised him, taught him, and helped him.

One of the many topics he discusses is anger and how, logically, one should not waste energy on it.

He sums it up by saying: .”How much more grievous are the consequences of anger than the causes of it.”

It is my second attempt to read it and this time I managed to finish it.

Most of the book is about the past till the recent years.

The most exciting -although it's a short part - was exploring on what's on human agenda for coming decades.

كانت دائما وما زالت في مكتبة والدي. فمن الكتب التي قرأتها قريبا من مكتبته إلى جانب كتاب مبادئ الإسلام لـ المودودي.
الكتاب قيم جدا ومرتب ترتيب جيد.
من مميزات الكتاب أن المؤلف ضم الأحاديث الضعيفة وبين ضعفها.
وبخصوص الكلمات التي لم أفهم معناها ولم يتطرق المحقق لها، بحثت عنها في جوجل.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: «مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ, وَمَا زَادَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلَّا عِزًّا, وَمَا تَوَاضَعَ أَحَدٌ لِلَّهِ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ». أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلم.

وَأَخْرَجَ اَلشَّيْخَانِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏رضى الله عنه ‏قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏صلى الله عليه وسلم «‏كَلِمَتَانِ حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى اَلرَّحْمَنِ, خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اَللِّسَانِ, ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي اَلْمِيزَانِ, سُبْحَانَ اَللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ , سُبْحَانَ اَللَّهِ اَلْعَظِيمِ»

وَعَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا, يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ». مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.

I consider The sieve and the sand one of the greatest chapters written in literature.

What a magnificent story!

Born in the middle of the second world war, Miyazaki was trying to tell here a far more horrific war, where the most of the worlds ecosystem has been destroyed.

If you have only watched Miyazaki movies like me, I would definitely recommend to read it.

Good novella. Jacob reminded me of Charlie, from The Fade out. I wished there was more, and now every time I see the cover I remember the movie Bill and Batman.

Expected to see more detectives hunting down the vigilante. But instead we got a vigilante who does a good detective work, and that's equally good for me.

It slowed down a bit but has a good and satisfying ending.

Vol. 1 was very good, but I wasn't in a hurry to finish it. This one made me engage with the story more. Excellent work.

A game? Yes, that's exactly what it's.

An excellent first volume that exceeded my expectations.

Sweet Thames, run softly till I end my song

I finished reading it two days ago, and what stands out to me is how effortlessly I moved through the poems. There are a handful of symbols and references I didn't fully understand, though.

من ترشيحات بلال فضل. ذكر الكتاب على ما أظن فى أولى حلقات برنامجه عصير الكتب. فكرة الكتاب جميلة. أقل مما توقعت ككتاب لكن كما توقعت من الكاتب ولغته الجميلة. يستحق القراءة لو أنك محب لكتابات طه حسين.
