I have started to read Jane Austen from her oldest work to the most ârecentâ. I read Lady Susan and now Sense and Sensibility.
I enjoyed the story itself and the plot twists of each sisterâs storyline. Although Marianne was depicted as rebellious, I believe her behavior to be understandable. Her pain and hopelessness were relatable, we will all probably be there at least once in our lives, and she is a teenager after all.
On the other hand, I found the writing quite redundant. Characters take a lot of pages to recount events⌠eh. Additionally, I would have liked to be âshownâ or âexperienceâ events, instead of having them told to the main characters by third parties. I understand this story started a series of letters between the two sisters, however, the narration turned a bit tedious at times.
