Why?
Because I wasn't feeling it and didn't like the writing style. Also, the main woman has this ‘shifting' ability where she can change her appearance at will and...something about this, whether the way it was handled or the fact she could do it at all, didn't sit well with me.
Also, and this might just be because I didn't read more of it, but at seven percent, I already believe I have solved the mystery. Maybe there'll be a major twist along the way and I would have been totally surprised had I kept reading, but I didn't care about the plot or characters enough to do that. (And, actually, already didn't like the two mains at all.)
Maybe I was just in a bad mood.
