I love this author and all of her books have been brilliant, this one was no different!
This is set in a wealthy private school where certain students are invited to join (not so) secret societies based on the 4 card suits. A young girl apparently commits suicide by jumping from a roof but clues show it might not have been a suicide, and our story goes from there.
This book has much more of a mystery vibe than some of the other books in the series and I really enjoyed it. There were multiple deaths to investigate, lots of players involved and a complex sub plot which keeps you guessing.
As always I loved Kim and her whole team, they are all so different but work so well together. They have been a strong team since the start and by book 7 you are completely connected to them. Their dynamics are what make the ‘detective' side of these books so good, and they all have their own strengths which complement others.
A word of warning - this one will make you cry. If you've worked your way through the full series, this one will hit you hard.
