Ciència ficció russa en la que un revolucionari soviètic viatja a Mart mentre es cou la revolució. És molt curiós que en una utopia hi pugui existir alguna mena de tensió narrativa, Bogdànov ho aconsegueix alhora que exposa el seu ideari eclèctic (si bé socialista) de manera amena. Molt curiós com algunes idees de tecnologia futura són increïblement encertades per haver-se escrit al 1908 i com algunes son autèntiques bogeries (naus espacials de vidre propulsades per un tipus de matèria que repel·leix la matèria convencional). També força rellevant que s'anticipi per dècades a algunes idees incòmodes sobre la limitació material dels planetes de molts autors americans que es consideren els que han posat la qüestió sobre la taula des de la ciència ficció (penso en Herbert o Le Guinn, però no estic dient que algú els reivindiqui com a res o que s'usurpi a Bogdànov de cap mèrit). Menció especial a la traducció on no deu ser fàcil traslladar del rus al català molts conceptes culturals en un context de ficció ja de per si molt fantàstic.

Russian science fiction in which a Soviet revolutionary travels to Mars while the revolution is brewing. I was surprisded to find some kind of narrative tension in a utopia. Bogdànov achieves this while exposing his eclectic (albeit clearly socialist) ideology in an entertaining way. Very funny how some ideas of future technology are incredibly accurate for the imagination of a 1908 man and how some are downright crazy (glass spaceships powered by a type of matter that repels conventional matter). It is also quite relevant that it anticipates by decades some uncomfortable ideas about the material limitation of the planets of many American authors who consider themselves to have put the question on the table since science fiction (I think of Herbert or Le Guinn, but not I'm saying that someone claims them as nothing or usurps Bogdanov of no merit). Special mention to the translation where it must not be easy to transfer many cultural concepts from Russian to Catalan in a fictional context that is already very fantastic.
