HOBAB is a riveting and wonderful conclusion to the Whispering Sea Duet, following the Ballad of Song and Sky (book 1).

It was snarky, cozy, interesting, and I couldn't wait to see what happened as I read!

I loved Caspian and Marina's playful snarky banter, its good and interesting and in the words of Marina herself "the bickering makes for good foreplay". She isn't wrong, it really helps build up their connection and relationship. I did wish they fulfilled the bond sooner rather than continuing to wait, it felt a little drawn out, but I did like it when it finally happened.

The spice was great, I loved them together! I also loved all the other time they spent together, Cas and Marina really balanced each other out.

The storyline was interesting; reuniting the selkies and sirens or waging a war? I liked how the author went about the plot, it kept me interested to see what happened! All the side characters are lovely, they added to the story really nicely and I was invested in each of them just as much as I was the main characters.

I hope she makes a spinoff about 2 other selkie siren parings - IYKYK.

Overall, I really enjoyed it! Will definitely be checking out some of her other works.
