My Rotten Redheaded Older Brother

The best thing about this book is that it so beautifully captures the animosity/love pendulum of a sibling relationship. As I read it aloud to my 4 year old, my 8 year old was listening. Every time the older brother did something mean, she would say, “Yeah. I do that.” And the later, “Okay, this is getting embarrassing.” But at the end, when the little sister is saved by her brother, my daughter gave her own brother a big hug. They listened to the last pages holding hands.

Then she went back to torturing him, but still!
