This story was a real winner for me and yet another reason to love Cara Putman's writing. The story is beautifully crafted and set in an interesting locale, Italy in 1944 as the fighting front moves north for the German retreat. I could easily imagine the scenery and the photography Rachel created, and I also enjoyed Scott as an MC–though it was Rachel who held my attention most. A bit of mystery connected with disappearing Italian art helped move the story along, though I was sure of the culprit from the moment the crimes were spoken of.
