Ahh... Well, I really wanted to love this book, but it's so hard when the main character annoys you to no end. The book started off great, with a normal (albeit mute) girl and her deaf best friend. Then boom: insta-love, mary sue & a story that doesn't feel coherent. At first the story was too slow and then suddenly it was too fast. Most of the characters were only given very little time and I feel like I couldn't connect with most of them. The book was great up until the incident at Charlotte's house but after that it went downhill.

I'm not a poetry connoisseur by any definition, but the lyrics and poems in this book were so cringe-worthy, I'm so sorry to have to say that because they probably took a lot of time to write, but they just came across as quite juvenile and silly....
