Just a lovely contemporary road romance set on the Pacific Crest trail that hits all of the right feelz. The two likeable MCs are both carrying a lot of baggage (figuratively in addition to literally). Although they fall in love, the Third Act Breakup feels completely necessary so they have the time and space to get their shit together before a swoony Grand Gesture reconciliation and HEA. Reminded me in the best way of Annabeth Albert's road trip romances such as [b:Status Update 29445951 Status Update (#gaymers, #1) Annabeth Albert https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1477072330l/29445951.SX50.jpg 46121871] and [b:Conventionally Yours 49811667 Conventionally Yours (True Colors, #1) Annabeth Albert https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1576001057l/49811667.SX50.jpg 71921779]. This is Anita Kelly's second novel with a mainstream publisher (Forever/Grand Central Publishing). For those who are new to Kelly's work, I would also recommend her self-published novellas, especially [b:Our Favorite Songs 58604942 Our Favorite Songs (Moonlighters, #2) Anita Kelly https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1626920207l/58604942.SY75.jpg 91260228].
