When I'm studying my genealogy, it is the Revolutionary War that I find the most interesting and intriguingly this seems to be a lesser time period to find many Christian Historical Fiction novels in, so there was extra interest for me here. In my opinion, Melanie Dobson is an amazing storyteller. To mix her storytelling talents with the best current various author themed series and I'm one happy camper. Much like the Love Finds You series, the American Tapestry books standalone but instead of location, the focus is on a time period in history. My first experience was with Janice Thompson's Queen of the Waves and that was excellent as well!

Often I find that I have to remind myself when I pick up a book from Melanie Dobson that just because I believe I will read a little before bed, it won't end that way. Her writing grips me and forces me to abandon all sleep and immerse myself in her story and her characters.
