I love this book! I learned a lot about Brittany and the Breton people. I learned about oysters and farming. This is probably the genre of police procedural, but it felt very cozy as well, like Louise Penny. I loved all the details about Dupin checking into all the details about everybody to figure out who was the murderer. There was so much to check on!
The mysteries had a couple twists and turns. The main twist I could see coming, but I still had no clue who it was. So it was still a surprise at the end.
Claire and Dupin are a great couple. They enjoy each other and also understand what crazy hours their jobs have.
All of the policemen under Dupin were well drawn characters. The prefect wasn't in the story much, but he was still a well drawn character. I am impressed with the characterization accomplished in the novel.
I will definitely be picking up another one of these.
