This audiobook has a misleading title, since the author barely ever mentions the legend or mythology of the Mothman cryptid.
The author constantly goes off on a tangent about aliens, a lot, or Native American spirits.
What does that have to do with the Mothman cryptid??
The film The Mothman Prophecies explains the legend of the mysterious Mothman cryptid, I already know the legend, it's really interesting.
The start of the book was about the Mothman, but the author, starts then going on a tangent about completely unrelated, pointless, boring irrelevant things.
For anyone that doesn't know The Mothman is a cryptid (Cryptozoology- The study of a unknown creature/being/person of unknown origin, or unknown species)
The Mothman has a moth/owl/bat or demonic type of appearance, red glowing eyes, it has a massive wingspan, it is a omen of death or tragedy, people usually see it before something bad happens.
In West Virginia, while people had encounters with the Mothman, they also received very strange phone calls, their encounters with the Mothman were creepy.
There isn't really a explanation for why the Mothman cryptid was in West Virginia in the 1960's but after people encountered the cryptid, a bridge completely collapsed and 46 people died
I thought the book was going to be about what the author experienced while investigating the Mothman, but it isn't.
What's the point of writing a book about the Mothman cryptid and barely ever mentioning them?
I wasted my money and time, even listening to this audiobook, what a wasted opportunity, i'm very disappointed, not impressed at all with this audiobook.
Don't bother buying the book, or the audiobook, The Mothman Prophecies film is much better, because it is actually accurate about The Mothman cryptid & what people actually experienced.
Don't bother listening to the audiobook of this the person reading the book is very monotonous, it's boring and most of the book is irrelevant information that's not even related to The Mothman cryptid
