Why?

Okay, so the girl was captured by three men that had been shipwrecked for years, tied up and nearly gang raped. She managed to fight off a couple of her attackers only for the third one to get the upper hand and decide that he would rather kill her than rape her now because she killed his friends. Then she's rescued by the guy that - so far - seems to be playing the role of the love interest. He rescues her, carries her away from the carnage and takes off his shirt to bandage her wounds - and she swoons over him, thinking about how handsome he is, and his muscles are attractive.

This isn't even rape for drama because in the immediate aftermath, she isn't even effected. (And I find it very hard to believe that this is the way any woman would react to nearly being gang raped.) It's just a given, of course, that, as soon as three men who haven't seen a woman in years finds one, they'll rape her.

What the hell?
