Very entertaining and easy to read. The author is a good story teller. There were a ton of characters though which made it hard to really connect or care about the side characters so when things happen to them it didn't really have as big of an emotional impact as I would have liked. I really enjoyed the world of this book, the plot and the two main characters however. I am interested to see where this story goes.

Beautiful artwork lots of visuals and minimal dialogue and narration used to tell the story which suits the folklore.

Rec for those who grew up loving watching/reading stories about magical girls but looking for more

Funny, heartwarming and action packed. I loved this duology. If you grew up on stories like Sailor Moon and loved them then you will love this fun series about a magical boy.

A powerful and beautifully written memoir.

I learned about so many things I didn't know like did you know if you breast feed your baby's saliva sends information to the mother's body and that can cause the breast milk to adapt to suit your baby's needs? Wild. This book covers topics about breast milk, the pelvic floor, miscarriage, the importance of care for birthing persons and support, postpartum depression, anxiety and psychosis and many other aspects of being pregnant, labor and the body after birth. And not only what the body goes through but the mind. I listened to the audiobook which took a while to like cause the narrator wasn't very engaging but the stuff I was learning about was so interesting I got used to her tone. I'd recommend reading this book just to learn all the cool bits of information. There are some incorrect medic terms used but overall it was a good read.

I never had to read The Diary of Anne Frank as part of required reading in school. I had of course heard about it and knew what it was about but this was my first time consuming any kind of adaptation of the diary. I was surprised by her character and personality. Even without knowing much about her I had built up assumptions of what kind of person she was from the quotes that are often repeatedly shared and the circumstances of her death. But reading this adaptation has reminded me that she was a fully formed person. A teenager not a saint or just a victim of the holocaust. I wish Anne had been able to grow up and become the journalist she had dreamed to be, the loss of what she would have further created is almost as tragic as what happened to her.

I don't know how you properly review a book about the true loss of a child. It was sad, funny, honest and if you have suffered the same loss, know someone who has or you just want to feel something deep, read this book.

This novel was a refreshing read; it wasn't full of shocking plot twists, but it kept me wondering where the story would take us next. A fairytale for adults, it had many horror elements without being scary. It has more tense and creepy scenarios. I had no intention of reading it because I am a Halloweenie, but then I saw the trailer for the TV show adaptation and became more interested. And then someone said it's not scary, so I gave it a shot, and I am happy I did. Except for one slow moment in the book where I was impatient for the plot to pick up. This book was a solid, good read, and I'll check out Victor Lavelle's other works.

Cute and fun

This was a cute and fun graphic novel, i would have loved to have had this to read as a teen and am happy it exists for teen readers now. I will definitely be continuing the series.

I need more of these women stories

Beautiful artwork and friendship. I hope there are more stories about these women in the future. I feel like we just got the beginning of their stories.

If you get the chance listen to this one on audio. It was a great listen. Not sure i liked the reveal at the end but it didn't change my overall feelings for the book too much to alter the rating.

3.5 rounded up to 4. It gripped me in the beginning, not that this is an intense pager turner kind of a book but the format of it being partially prose and poetry made the chapters go by quickly. However as the book went on and we moved from pregnancy to having an infant to raising a toddler and the poems lengthen in some areas my interest did wane from time to time but I still think this was a good read. I think it's especially a good read for those who are pregnant or raising a young child just to know you are not alone in your feelings and to help you feel OK with how things are going with your baby raising.

If you are able to listen to the audiobook edition of this book do it. It is read by the author and it is made excellent for it. This is a short but powerful novel in verse about a teenage girl who is always told she is too much but has a voice that needs to be heard.

Not sure how I feel about this overall but there were some good little nuggets in there like following your curiosities. Update: The only thing I can remember from this book that I thought had value was if you don't know what you are passionate about then you should follow your curiosities and then maybe that becomes a passion or maybe it doesn't but it's a lot easier to think of things you are curious about than what you are passionate about.

This was awesome action packed and funny

This was awesome, an action packed and funny ride. I can't believe it left me on a cliffhanger though so rude! I haven't read manga or watched anime in a good while and the style of this graphic novel brought me back to the shoujo manga I used to read years ago. I loved it so much, the humour and call out of the impractical magical girl outfits (and transformation scene) was hilarious. I will be reading the next book.

This is so cute and i loved the story

This story was cute, interesting and had a great action packed climax. I admired Moth for standing up for herself to her loved ones. And i admired Charlie for defending his friend too.

Loved it. It really is a gentle approach to cleaning and organising. This is the best self help book i've read. It's short and it has a lot of actionable steps. it really focuses on you doing what is best for you to make your space functional. There are no hard set rules to cleaning and organising there is no shame or morality tied to doing chores. You do not live to serve your home, your home is there to serve you.

Loved this completely. I loved the characters, the story and the world of the story.

Continues to be cute and i love the expansion of the world

This story continues to be cute and I love the expansion of the world. Garlic is a wonderful protagonist and I am glad she exists for all the anxious kids out there who can relate.

This is charming and wonderfully illustrated. I butchered the cajun pronunciations and wasn't sure what was being said 100% of the time but the illustrations helped fill in the gap as well as being familiar with the original poem.

Vasya stressed both me and her siblings out with her secrets but the story was a good one.

Great illustrations disturbing and creepy short stories but a few felt incomplete maybe that's the nature of short horror stories and I just didn't like the open ended endings. Definitely give it a read.

Entertaining and enjoyable to listen to.

I thought it was going good up until The Queen's POV. I felt the tension deflate once her perspective was shown and plans revealed and then around the 60 % mark I started to get bored and then around 70% I started skimming until the end. I lost interest in the plot and did not care what became of the characters I just wanted to be done with the story. I think this would have worked better as a novella without all the extra filler at the end. A love interest pops up in the last 20% of the book along with a double pregnancy...this was not the book for me.

I listened to the audiobook which was read by the author and definitely added to the experience as she was able to inflect the right tone to match the text.
