I loved this book because her experiences with men really made me rethink my past experiences. Especially the privilege of brothers in families, because my sister and I had to work hard to get our parents approvals while my brother could talk and would be praised. It is such an unfair society. This book made me tear up
I read this after reading Normal People and to me, there were a few similar situations in the plot, which was interesting, I guess. The story overall was good but not really that interesting to an extend where I would be thinking about it all the time. It's basically a story of two college girls becoming entangled with an older couple. It's all in Frances perspective and she is one hell of a character who basically just doesn't know what she's doing in life. Juts confused the majority of the time. I don't know all the characters were complex in their own way but Frances was just lowkey annoying in a way. The whole story was just a mess lol. The second part got pretty boring as well.
It's so cute and I really love the ending. It was a bit hard to read through because the dialogue aspect wasn't there. But I think it was not the stereotypical stories and there were a lot of emotional aspects to the book.
' They argue like this for a while, until Jamie comes up and touches Marianne's arm. She is suddenly conscious of his ugliness and wants to pull away from him. His hairline is receding and he has a weak, jawless face. Beside him, and even covered in blood, Connell radiates good health and charisma.' This is my favourite scene !!
It was majorly about depression and her finding her true self and happiness and all that. It was an interesting concept and it was enjoyable to read but it was also quite a broad topic to get my head around, especially as someone who didn't really understand some of the topics and words lol. But it was a nice read.
Had to read for English and as someone who is not interested in literature and books, in general, was lowkey annoyed with the book. The plot was kinda mediocre and it was boring LOLOLOL. Also, still don't get the hype over Shakesphere books because I guess he brought a new thing to literature but really it's not that special.
I have a fat crush on Kon bc he has such a hot personality BUT this book rlly annoyed me for some reason, I enjoyed it a lot but cannot get myself to give it higher than 3 starts
