An entertaining and important message about aboriginal sovereignty.

But it's just tooooo looooong. There is so much repetition in the first half. You could make this book about 1/3 the size without losing anything.

I picked this up cheap at the local discount book store as the premise sounded really interesting. Ultimately I got about 25% of the way through before I got thoroughly bored and picked something else up.

Amazing portrayal of white colonial attitudes in a well researched historical fantasy setting.

Amazing. Nothing really happens; but, the character development is second to none. It's obviously a book building up to a an intricately described cast and world and does a fantastic job at it.

Review to come. TL;DR didn't really like much about it.

I loved the whole getting the band back together vibe. Perfect blend of humour and fantasy elements .

Basically I can see why people would have nostalgia about this book, and the appeal of it as a classic children's tale; but, for someone coming into it in adulthood it was just a bit above average.

It was a good book for what it is just not something that excited me.

A short little book that focused less on the automation of work and more on the topic of post-scarcity and UBI than I thought it would.
I felt it was missing a conclusion although it was thought provoking .
