here's me, again, reading a cozy book, what happened to me??
anyways, i really enjoyed this one, it had plot, it had action, it had angst and pinning, it had everything! albeit it was in the amounts you would expect from a cozy novel, but still
i also would have liked a bit more context into how stella rune came to be, more on nia's mother's diaries, that would have made me get into the story soo much more, like, can we get a book about the sword and luna? gosh i'd live for it
and oh boi, you can also catch me thinking about lochlan and nia and about what will happen to ivy and beck, and thane 👀
so Lexi, pretty please with a cherry on top, i need at least one more book so i can know what life has in store for them 🥺

3.75⭐ i have to say i enjoyed reading this book, but writing this three weeks later, the only thing i recall is hoping to get even more in depth i what troubles milo and his family.
i also think i did myself a disservice by reading a book that might be considered cozy when i am one for the drama and the angst, and although technically we got a bit of it, it was not nearly enough for me personally
i went in blind when i picked up the book, it was my first hannah novel, and i didn't know what to expect, but hey the cover was giving fall vibes and that's what i was after 🤷🏼♀️

if i cry with the acknowledgements you can bet your ass it was a good book
i don't know what else to say, if you give me a book that portrays the exact feeling of falling in love and what is like to give grieving a break, you got me
5⭐️

i've eaten this book up, and gosh, i even cried and i never cry
i love these two so much 🥺 the change and growth they both had throughout the book? and it being thanks to each other? 😭
also, bert f*cking up what could have been a real hawt scene? i will take that grudge with me to my grave 😤
i can't cope, 5 stars 😭 gtg i still have some happy tears to spill in me about these two ❤️🩹
thank you so much lila for the arc 🥺🙏🏼 and i know it goes without saying but my opinions are my own and you REALLY need to read this book if cowboy romance is your obsession (as is mine) 🦬

i always feel like books have place in our own timeline, and i couldn't ask for a better time for this one to chose me
i don't have any negative things to say about this book, it was exactly what i needed, lush forests, earthy magic and the yearning from our tortured fmc
i needed something like this, just like i've been needing nature in my life recently
and let me tell you, i don't think i could have started september in a better way than by choosing this book
much love to rachel and how she writes about magic and nature, it's always a comfort when you need that whimsical peaceful setting 🥺💖

I don't know if this is a 4 or a 3.75 🤷🏼♀️
i started this a while ago, i barely remember anything from that first 60%
but i am still salty about kamran
i dont like it when they change the love interest and make them the pity party villain
will i keep reading? who knows for now i am just happy i got to finish this

This, was SO GOOD.
How could I describe it? Bridgerton meets Ghost Whisperer plus we get to meet Death? YES, A MILLION TIMES YES. GIVE IT TO ME.
I'm so glad I decided to pick up this book. I got in only because of the Death premise but let me tell you, I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery, the crime solving, EVERYTHING.
Also, perfectly themed to be read in October, which made it 10x times better.
The writing? On point. Quote after, quote. I have a million tabs on this book that range from the love heart warming scenes to the best wake up moments.
Plus, for a YA book? IT WASN'T FADE TO BLACK. It was obviously done with the utmost care, and as if it was seen from the perspective of a woman in that timeframe. And it was beautiful, let me tell you.
I don't know what else you want me to say for you to consider picking up the book. Just do it, you won't regret it.

2025 update: 4⭐
Now that the Maas fever has subsided in me I can safely say, yup I was right, and I should have given this 4*. I don't even think I want to give it the .5 🙄
My relationship with this book is one of contented hatred. I got it spoiled and tbh it didn't measure up to the first book. Crescent City #1 will always be my favorite book of Sarah, and honestly, I decided to reread it so I could finally finish the series and do so remembering whatever the hell happened.
So now let me wait three months until I pick up the third book, bc the slump is slumping and this ain't gonna help 😂

OG Review: 5⭐
I didn't want to give it 5*, it was 4.5* rounded to 4* until page 740.
I got this book so spoiled, SO SPOILED, I hated looking at it, I dreaded finishing it, I just couldn't.
Throne of Glass is my favorite saga of Sarah but Crescent City made it's way to my Top 5 with book one, and I was so excited for book two that when I got spoiled all that was going to happen, I just raged.
So I'm here to tell you that those 60 pages I had left, were worth it. Worth it because a hope I had been harbouring after I read ToG has become a reality, and I just sobbed my way through that part 🤷🏼♀️
I also kind of expected more about the book...? It felt like reading AKOFAF in some way, though not as badly because at least this time I kind of remember what has happened before the apocalyptic finale. But yeah, it's felt like all the good things were reserved for those last 60 pages.
Dont mind my rant here, I might change the ranking on this book when I reread it come CC3. But regardless, it's a good book that I really enjoyed and I'd really recommend you reading if you love Sarah's work ☺️

not to be negative, i never intend to be, but why does this always happen to me?
i hate when reels catch my attention and then the book doesn't live up to the expectations
