If not for all the romance in this book, I would've given it 5 stars. I am not much of a romance fan, but this book had so much more to offer that I was able to get past it. Ashling is a werewolf princess, destined by prophecy to be the one to unite all clans and get back to Old Mother's ways, protecting humans, not eating them. So much pressure for a 16-year-old girl to bear. Now, everyone wants to claim her and her power. And as we all know power calls to some pretty evil folks at times. One of the things I really liked about this book was reading about the packs antiquated beliefs and how the younger wolves dealt with it. The pack cultures and beliefs made for some pretty interesting reading. I am going to start Bloodrealms, the second book in this series today.
