This journey was completely rushed, the characters had no depth, and one secondary character had no resolution. The “good guys” were perfect with little flaws and the “bad guys” were either 100% bad or 95% bad with 5% of goodness used to benefit the “good guys”. Imagine the most cringeworthy cheesy lifetime movie and turn it into a book.
Spoiler Ahead: Roni would get beat by her crazy uncle yet showed no emotion, it was weird. The only character with an ounce of emotion was Rob, he moved mountains to get his daughter back which is rare to see, but it was a nice touch that made the novel inspiring in a way.
