Fifteen-year-old Callie isn't speaking to anybody, not even her therapist at Sea Pines, the "residential treatment facility" where her parents and doctor sent her after discovering that she cuts herself. As her story unfolds, Callie reluctantly becomes involved with the "guests" at Sea Pines: other Young women struggling with problems of their own. Although their "issues" are different from hers, Callie is drawn into the group, finds her voice, and, gradually, confronts the family trauma that triggered her destructive behavior.
Cut is a compelling and compassionate look at a young woman's struggle to overcome the impulses that led her to inflict harm on herself.

I honestly forgot I was reading this book. I expected more but it was very bland. Not a bad book but like I stated, I expected more. Callie's parents were trash parents.
Aside from the fact that this lets everyone know that you dont have to wear black to be Emo. I thought this book wasnt that good. And it could've been longer.
This was a YA classic I'm glad I finally got around to reading. I didn't finish the story with an understanding of why people cut, and I wasn't convinced Callie actually grew as a person at the end. Maybe it's because it's too short. I understand that the size of this novel is what appeals to reluctant readers, so I get it. I personally read this for a readathon. It reminded me of a Girl, Interrupted Jr.
