An excellent start to a new series. Rhett and Bruno captured the voice and character of an ol' grizzled cowboy turned supernatural bounty hunter in such away that I wish John Wayne were still alive to play him in the movie adaptation. I'm looking forward to the next installment.
This was a book that I really enjoyed. I found it was available on Audible and I decided to listen to it after I found the first one available for one credit, just to try out the series.
Overall, this was a story that combines the best of Jim Butcher and The Witcher series, making for a fun paranormal historical fiction book. I also enjoyed how the book was narrated by Roger Clark, who also voiced Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption II. His voice was perfect for this role, the same way James Marsters is for Harry Dresden.
Overall, if you are unsure about the premise of a dead cowboy brought back to life to do the Lord's work against demons of Hell, then I would suggest this quick audiobook. It just might change your mind. I give it a four out of five.
