If you have read one of my anthology reviews before then you know I rarely start with the first story and this time is no different. I started with Hung by Ashleigh Giannoccaro and I got a thrilling sexual ride. Giannoccaro definitely has a way with words and you would have to when you are writing a horror twisting sexcapade. I never knew how far down into the darkness Giannoccaro was taking me, but I was definitely along for the ride. Holy sugar! This is one story I did not see coming and very exciting.
Then I went to a different extreme with a different level of violence with The Sinner by L.P. Lovell. The twists and turns of this family drama. I kept thinking it was going to go one way and it went left on me (laugh). In a very good way it went left - total popcorn moment. Let me just say that if you were eating the popcorn, you would have stopped your panties would have got wet, and then you would have spilled the popcorn. Holy sugar! I think I am going to keep on saying that the whole book. Makes me want to sin a bit...(wink).
Bang, Bang by Dani René had my heart beating so fast I thought I was going out with a bang. This would make an awesome full-length novel. It is a mystery with a hitman who has a very dark past. He starts to drive in the direction of his father's funeral, but stops at the boy he was best friends with, and secretly in love house, where things get even more interesting. Talk about tense and combustible. I am so trying not to say “Holy Sugar” again, but I actually swore aloud when I finished and I did not say “sugar” (laugh). Intense. Fabulous. I want this feeling all over again. You will too.
