New from the creator of Captain Underpants, it's Dog Man, the crime-biting canine who is part dog, part man, and ALL COP! There's a new breed of justice in town, and he's ready to sniff out criminals -- as soon as he stops chasing his own tail! George and Harold have created a new hero who digs into deception, claws after crooks, and rolls over robbers. When Greg the police dog and his cop companion are injured on the job, a life-saving surgery changes the course of history, and Dog Man is born. With the head of a dog and the body of a human, this heroic hound has a real nose for justice. But can he resist the call of the wild to answer the call of duty?

So dumb but it gets my second grader reading. There's a little humor for any adult forced to read along, at least.
I'm always slightly conflicted about how much I enjoy Dav Pilkey's work. It's funny and engaging and definitely a hit with reluctant readers but the misspelling bugs me on a visceral level. That being said, I am increasingly of the opinion that we should adopt “laffs” as the official spelling.
Loved it! Especially the Flip-e-rama! A great set of stories. Highly recommended for children.
Dogman is part Cop, part Dog. In this book, he faces the Cat, who is actually responsible for him becoming Dogman. From revolutionary weenies to dictator mayors, this book is a quick read with some hilarious jokes that will have you laughing like the kid this is meant for.
At the end, there are even guides for you to learn how to write your own Dogman comics.
