Finally, we're done with the “saving Tae” arc. I was half-pleased that she had seemingly died, considering it was getting really tiring reading “Kei-chan” and “Tae-chan” over and over again. And Nishi got revived and lasted this long is all for this “trope scene” of protagonist vs antagonist. The aliens... despite overwhelming firepower fails to stop the giant robots, though they seem to have no trouble taking out the hidden bosses behind the Gantz balls - that was wrapped up pretty lamely too. Saves the author from having to explain who they were. Anyway, this final philosophically-implied conflict of “should we destroy them” ended in a pretty tame manner. It's pretty hard to accept that a score of giant robots brought down an alien civilisation that was capable of fielding hundreds of giant robots and ships of their own... but whatever. I'm glad it's over.
