I liked it and I think its message is very important in the world we live in. Making us lose faith in humanity is how the ones in power are able to keep us down, so we have to always remember that it is not in our nature to be cruel and that community care is vital.
The author had some more radical ideas, some less so. It is interesting how we can imagine a better future within the system, sure, but honestly, to me it's much more interesting how we can imagine a better one beyond it (given that powerful people are always going to block genuine reform to keep their power and also that as long as the system stands, no one is going to be truly free).
This book for me is worth more than 5 stars, endless.
This books explains and captures everything I have ever felt, innerly for myself. People called me naive, dreamer, ideological, etc. I always thought it was just me... having this book scientifically explain everything I have felt and thought growing up makes me feel seen, heard, and understood.
What can I say? My personal new bible. I do wish the world would look more positive towards life, and as every cliché post says , see the beauty around you. There is so much good mixed with a little bad. Why are we focusing on the bad so much?
When I go through bad times, I don't want to sit and dwell in them for years and years. I want to move on to the good parts and vibes. I wish the world would be like that, too. Show the amazing people we cohabit this world with .
Anyway, I can't explain the depth this book has touched my soul. I am obsessed with it because it fits me so well. I hope that other people can also see the kindness in the world after reading this.
