Miseducated: A Memoir

Such a beautifully uplifting story.
How wonderful, after spending too many memoirs crying in heartbreak, to end this one crying in joy! 
I've learned it's a testament to finding a new favourite when I end up hugging the book as soon as I've finished.
To start with so little hope, then to become a man who strives to provide it to so many. 
Endlessly inspiring to see alternative teaching methods not just created and implemented successfully, but recognized as innovative. 
I can now say with confidence that if you're struggling with the pain and choices described in the first half, it's worth it to get to the second half. 
Read as much of those latter-half chapters as you can out loud; getting into the oratorical spirit just makes it even better. 

For the fellow atheists, and ex-religious in the room, the church, and clergy, good and bad, are recurring  figures throughout this narrative. It never leaned towards preachy so I felt pretty neutral about it, but if that's a touchy subject for you, know that it's there.
