I thoroughly enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The characters were easy to connect to, the plot was super fun, and the teenage angst was done in a way that wasn't cheesy. And the relationship between Harper & David is my absolute favorite thing in this entire story.
This book was shameless amounts of fun. I laughed more at this book than any in recent memory. The story and characters were wonderful and felt very real in this bizarre scenario. I love how the author describes this book as a mix of Legally Blonde and Terminator. I would add in Avengers as well and then you should have a pretty good idea the beautiful joy that is Rebel Belle. Very fun, very funny, and intense. It's also a clean book that is good for younger readers.
Bruce Wayne's parents get killed and he goes to Tibet or whatever, and Superman is an alien, and Spiderman had that radioactive spider. Me? I kissed a janitor in the school bathroom.
I've added this to my I'm-ashamed-I-read-this list.
This was a really interesting mix of southern charm with paranormal aspects. Rachel Hawkins did a really good job of blending the paranormal with the “contemporary” feel of Harper's life. I have to say the ending was super cliche and I'm not sure I'm ready for the trilogy to continue with the current paranormal gang working together.
Seriously, the trio being David, Harper, and Ryan. Boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, and girl working together. That is just asking for unnecessary drama.
