"An all-consuming ecosystem like nothing we've seen on earth: The Spread. For ten years it has twisted our planet into its own warped image. Now, one man has found the key that could save the world, but in his path are monsters, raiders, cannibals, fanatics and one cranky baby."--Back cover of Volume 1.

Y'know, it's okay. The art is okay, not my favorite. In a nutshell, as some others have said–Lone Wolf and Cub meets The Thing meets Mad Max meets cults meets...Berserk, actually, since one of the first villains seems to be reborn a la Griffith into something much more horrifying. Characters fairly stock, but all right. Lots of gore, which I don't mind. But Berserk does it better.
