After his parents, two sisters, and he have spent six years in a vast underground compound built by his wealthy father to protect them from a nuclear holocaust, fifteen-year-old Eli, whose twin brother and grandmother were left behind, discovers that his father has perpetrated a monstrous hoax on them all.

The never-ending game of “oh my god THIS is the book I've remembered for years!” Can't believe I actually found it. It's a good variant of a post apocalyptic novel, and apparently there's a sequel, which I had no idea.

I found this to be a pretty compelling read. The writing was just so-so, but the plot was very exciting. I loved hearing all about the compound and the things they had there and I started thinking about what I would want in my own compound if I had to live there for 15 years.This book is also pretty disturbing and twists your mind a little bit because the author says just enough and then lets you figure out the rest.
