I just finished Ghost Ship by Kate Mosse and here is my review.
It's 1621 and the ship known as Ghost ship, is sailing silently on the water. It has one mission... A mission where Captain Louise Reydon-Joubert and her crew are hunting pirates... Hunting them to liberate the people they took during their raiding.
Ghost ship is under attack. The ship is in bad physical shape. Louise is pretending to be her brother in hopes of surviving what is lurking around the corner.
I'm going to start by saying that the cover is lovely! It is really eye-catching and the joy doesn't stop there. This is a book in a series but it really stands well as a standalone novel.
The plot was wonderful! An historical fiction on the high seas with pirates... count me in any day of the week. The writing was so beautiful I was captivated right from the first page!
Louise is such an amazingly strong female lead! I loved her from the offset. The whole book was tied together with the perfect balance of plot to character development, to descriptive passages and conversation. I devoured it in a day and I will now go back and read book one!
The author is an amazing storyteller and I am fully on board for more from the author.
