A recently deceased woman meets “the one” in the afterlife waiting room, scoring a second chance at life (and love!) if she can find him on earth before ten days are up…
If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, but now she’s standing in her ‘shine like a star’ nightie in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen. And he’s smiling at her.
As they start to chat, everything else becomes background noise. That is until someone comes running out of a door, yelling something about a huge mistake, and sends the dreamy stranger back down to earth. And here Delphie was thinking her luck might be different in the afterlife.
When Delphie is offered a deal in which she can return to earth and reconnect with the mysterious man, she jumps at the opportunity to find her possible soulmate and a fresh start. But in a city of millions, Delphie is going to have to listen to her heart, learn to ask for help, and perhaps even see the magic in the life she’s leaving behind…

I just finished The Love of my Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood and here are my thoughts.
The afterlife isn't what it is cracked up to be but when Delphie arrives, she meets a stranger and they connect in the best way. Trouble is, he wasn't there to stay so when Delphie is offered the chance to return to earth to find him, she jumps at the chance. Trouble is, she doesn't really have anything to go on and the clock is ticking.
This book was great! I found it funny and uplifting in that self deprecating way. I loved how clever the plot was and it was so well written. Delphie is my favorite kind of MC. She is quiet and thoughtful and she doesn't have a lot of people in her life but when she connects, she connects hard. I found the way she and Cooper connected was really special and they healed each other in the best possible ways and he really helped her become something more.
I thought the rom-commy vibes were so cute and so funny! There were some pretty epic mishaps and some of the situations she got herself in. LOL!!! I laughed a lot and I felt my heart ache too. She is super relatable and that is a huge part of why I loved the book.
I didn't like that she was a virgin, I felt that was cringey (I hate that word but it fits) and she supposedly falls for a guy within moments of meeting and goes back to earth to find him. It was a bit much! She needed more time with him for it to not feel so forced and inexperienced over virgin would have been better. It was the only thing I did not like.
Great book if you love rom-coms!

Delphine dies, and when she meets the one in the afterlife, she is given the opportunity to return to earth and find him. If he kisses her, she gets to stay.
This book is adorable, it really is. Delphine is a bit too quirky for me, but I loved everything else.
The story has a great cast of characters, it's lighthearted and fun.
It's the true definition of a romcom! Absolutely recommended for the fans of the genre.
I would like to thank Random House UK, Cornerstone and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
P.S - This review is very short because I believe the less you know about this book the better. It was a nice surprise for me, and it wouldn't have worked so well if I knew more details than the ones given in the blurb.
