Read based on recommendations from file770.com. Engagingly written, but not so compelling that I'm going to read either of the other books in this world. A little more “fantasy” than I prefer.
I read this when it was new. It was well worth the reread. It can certainly be read as a stand-alone, I read that way the first time. But now, having read Swordspoint last month, I enjoyed it even more.
Narration by Kushner herself (and additional cast) is 5 stars all the way. Definitely naming on reading the other Riverside books now.
