A rather gentle and mild story by Lovecraft-ian standards. The story is about a man who was enamoured with the dreams he had as a child, and who slowly started to lose access to them as he grew older. He became somewhat depressed and obsessed about finding and reliving his childhood dreams, all the while deriding the real world as fake and a poor imitation of his fantastic dream vistas. One day, he receives a “clue” about how to do just that, and the short story drives to a twist in the ending, something that I wasn't quite expecting from a Lovecraft book. It's more fantasy or science fiction than horror. Still, the prose here is beautiful as always, making it a very pleasant read.
