My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again. All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don't even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost—and the ghost saw me. Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House . . . before its skeletons come back to haunt me.

I plowed through this in like... six hours, and ended up fucking up my diurnal rhythm, because I could barely put it down once I'd started it, but it was soo worth it. The thing that annoys me is that I didn't realize what Derek was until there was only like.. three or four chapters left of the book... >_>
I would have been much, much happier if the ending were an ending. Instead, it's a “wait for the next book!” I've found the rest of Armstrong's work to be wonderful, and each book stood alone although they all twine together to create a fascinating universe. I cannot say the same for this one.
This book is dark, suspenseful, imaginative, realistic even though it is fantasy and action packed. This book had me hooked from beginning to end.
