Why do people who are wonderful in one field always think they can be wonderful in others?

I've never been one to seek out celebrity bios and I made an exception for you, Diane, and I should not have.

My two cents: Spend your twenty bucks on a Diane Keaton video rather than this book. You'll be happier for it.

Interesting memoir that includes journal entries from Diane Keaton's mom with Diane's own entries. Almost mixed-media, with photos not only of Diane and her family but also of her and her Mom's collages/journals. Would have loved a little more dirt on the Hollywood crowd but overall enjoyed the book and the insights into her and her Mom's relationship.

A very good read. Diane Keaton goes back and forth, weaving in details of her life with her mother's. I found it refreshingly honest and vulnerable and that surprised me. I love the fact that she honored her mother the way she did in the way she told her mother's story, through her letter and photographs and remembered phone messages. I also thought it was respectful that she didn't dish on all the romances she had. She paid tribute to some of the stars that were her lovers without going into any unnecessary detail.
