Absolutely loved this book! Despite it taking me a good half year to read (I had started and was clearly not ready for it yet so had to stat again a few months later), this is one of those books that slowly and kindly leads you to open your eyes to a set of habits/ingrained thoughts & emotions that you weren't aware you were carrying around with you to your detriment.
Interspersed with beautiful stories about her mother (I would've liked growing up with such a role model!!!), Ariana Huffington blends research with her and other people's experience in order to show us that there is more to life than money and power.
I liked this book so much that I actually sat down with a notebook whilst reading it and took notes and wrote down quotes. I've never felt the need to do that before but this seemed to fit.
I will be going back to this book over and over again - a true joy to read.
Add another book to my list of good books on happiness. Arianna Huffington found herself lying on the floor in a pool of blood, and it was a wake-up call for her. She was driven toward success and realized she was neglecting what she came to call the third metric of success: well-being, wisdom, and wonder. She closely looks at how we can have well-being, wisdom, and wonder in our own lives, and uses research to back up her every suggestion.
