Two stars for “okay.” Cute enough to keep me turning pages, but so many constant inconsistencies that I couldn't ever really get used to the setting and characters. For one thing, the heroine's stepson is never properly introduced, never described until halfway through, and he acts like a teen and appears to be in high school even though if you add up when she became his mom, it puts him at age 11. Supposedly she raised him from teething age and yet he doesn't really see her as his own mom or have any sense of belonging. This child psychologist can't figure out her own kid's issues either, and doesn't have the first impulse to sit him down and talk to him.
The parents of the kids at her practice, and her own parents, are all controlling or absent. Really downer that no good examples are given in the story—not even herself.
The romance was cute, though immature.
