In 2014, when Disney restructured the Star Wars continuity, the existing Expanded Universe (EU) was rebranded as Star Wars Legends. These older books, comics, and stories—originally considered part of the timeline—were declared non-canon to make way for a new, unified narrative. From that point forward, all newly published books became part of the official Disney-era canon, starting with A New Dawn, and are coordinated with films, TV series, and other media to maintain consistency across the franchise.
