For anyone following Cory, this book is familiar subject matter, but nevertheless very well collected and collated package of information about our current lives in the enshittocene. For anyone who doesn't know who Cory Doctorow is, or maybe only has read his sci-fi novels - this book is essential manual to understanding the why world (cyber and meatspace) around you has gone to shit.

Read it, then read it to your kids, recommend it to your friends and loved ones and then tell everyone else about it.

It's important. And as mentioned in the final closing - there are other, larger issues like the environment at stake at the moment, but if we can't reverse the enshittfication of the Internet, then we stand no chance of arranging resistance and saving the planet from burning.

It really is a must read so go read it.

Great world building, loads of characters but suffers greatly from pacing. Started slow, ended slow. Parts in the middle were really good. Could have been 500 pages shorter
