This is such a far cry from the original Martian Manhunter that I really, really wish it was its own thing. Camp’s ideas about entropy being inherent to our bigoted, capitalist society is paired with some real psychedelic shit from Rodriguez in the art department that allows the work to stand above even the other Absolute titles in terms of ambition. This has something to say about our current moment in a way that feels unique. Please don’t do Darkseid. Who cares.
