Have you ever had a meal so good you spend a age eating it just to make it last?
Or a view so breathtaking, you cant even bring yourself to take a picture because that would mean looking away?
So much is Fleeting, but this book I've read slow, I've savoured every morsel. I've appreciated every moment.
I know this would be good from the very first Cherry pit. And I was wrong, this wasn't good, this was a masterpiece, epic and deeply touching. Relatable and yet whimsical at the same time.
I'm not good at Reviews, I'm not good at explaining myself. So I hope you understand when I say I Loved this book, it made me FEEL.
A tense and risky world of Dragons, magic, and Dark forces brings forth a lot of challenges and clashes of power. With emotions and loved ones caught up in the crossfire of war, there's no rest for our heroes as they all try to survive long enough to fight back.
Utterly fantastic world-building and beautiful creatures and places, JD has created an immersive world full of complexities that I hope we see more of in their next book (please keep writing JD)
Holy hell, He's done it again!
Dave has created a whole world of imagination, the links that connect not just the characters in this book but connected to his other 2 books are mesmerising!
The Darktouched is such a beautifully epic fantasy with hints of dystopia and mythology.
We follow multiple characters, each one so unique and interesting and then all perfectly connected to each other and the world around them.
There is so much featured in this book, so much that I want to know more of and so much that brings emotions out.
Dave has managed to create a world that's both familiar and breathtakingly unique. He leads us on a path that almost feels linear and then throws us some curve balls!
I am extremely thankful to have read this absolute masterpiece and even more thankful to know that Dave is already working on book 2!
If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
OKay so I got this book as a ARC from Dave himself.
I absolutely love the first Book (What We Leave Behind) and was desperate for this one!
Right from the bat I knew this was going to be good, Daves writing style instantly grabs your attention.
I loved the different POVs and then coming back to the MC (PC Jack Wright).
Jacks POVs perfectly reflected his analytical mind and strict moral code, even his humour was perfectly in keeping with his Character.
Depending on how much you look at the cover this might be a SPOILER!
Dave has introduced yet another aspect to this thriller, Wearwolves but not as you know them! These wolfies are not your smutty 7ft men with abs, no these wearwolf characters are utterly original and each one we meet is so unique.
I dont want to give too much away but I will say theres some links into Daves other Series (The Darktouched).
I definitely loved this book, to the point of telling Dave himself to shush so I could keep reading!
This is definitely a five star read and I will keep recommending both “What We Leave Behind” and “If We Were One” to Everyone I can!
Thank you Dave!
Utterly amazing! Read it all in just two days, I couldn't put it down! There are so many twists its like a old country road , and leaving off on the ultimate cliff hanger. “one of the most shocking crime scenes they have ever attended” is the first of many intriguing moments, you find yourself trying to puzzle it out along side the Detectives, but nothing can prepare you for the many shocks from the very first crime scene to the very last chapter. Chris Carter just keeps getting better! I can't wait to see what he has in store for us, bring on the next Robert Hunter Book!
Every book I have read from Cassandra Clare draws me in and consumes my mind. and this was no different! I feel like I have become a part of their lives and I'm so invested in even the little details, will Ty ever get a pet? how is Julian's cooking? What will Emma do? I wan to know more, actually I want to live the story!
Highly Recommend to anyone!
