I so completely forgot everything about this book that I didn't realize until trying to log it on goodreads that I'd read it before. The main romance here is cute and the story could be good. Unfortunately it's a major plot point so far that the main girl is in love with her guardian who happens to be her biological uncle (not the main male protagonist thankfully). So that's a no from me on reading volume two.
Note: I forgot I read it again and reread it. 🙃 I read volume 2 and the weird uncle dynamic is hopefully resolved. Still. No.

I love me some old man yaoi, but Lovers on the Last Train was a miss for me. The characters make bizarre choices and don't seem all that fleshed out or have chemistry.

There are some important perspectives being discussed in Snow Angel, but all the characters are pod people. I found the idea of including a character overwhelmed with being one of the sole caretakers for a family member interesting, but the author almost uses the grandpa with dementia as a prop, not an actual person going through a difficult, debilitating illness. I know this is headed towards being a romance, but I would honestly prefer the story just focus on the family dynamic and how the main character decides to navigate it. Not an impressive volume, which is a shame, because there are a lot of themes at play in the story that are pretty rare to see in manga .

Review copy from NetGalley.
The guilt logic is flawed here. Art continues to be great from this author. The characters are just very messy people. One male character is held back his guilt and the other by his inability to communicate. This one was fine, but not really a hit for me.

Well thank goodness she figured out that's she's not in love with her uncle. Geez. If not for that weird plot point, this would be a solid shojo. I'm gonna continue, but good grief.
