While the adventure was a decent story, I never felt the characters were developed enough to care about them, really, which was disappointing. It seemed to move too fast.

I, also, never could get past the fact The Underground Railroad, was an actual railroad, underground. Just seemed so lazy and disrespectful, to me.

“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth” I don't know if his hypothesis is true, but it makes sense to me. Good read, while maybe a bit drawn out. Tragic story.

I loved this book. I've read a couple other Appalachian Trail books, and have enjoyed them all. But I liked his take on everything on his trip, describing pretty much every step, the relationships formed along the trail, even if only 5 minutes long, and felt more detailed than some others. He made me care about not only him, but others he spent time with. I did, really, laugh and cry while reading.

Definitely kept my interest from beginning to end. I hadn't heard of this case, that I could recall.I listened to the audiobook and Bronson Pinchot is an amazing narrator.

For fiction, it felt very real. It's a series of events lived over and over by families around us, and we can't ignore it. You know how it's going to go, but you root and fight for all the people, in this book, every step of the way.
