Fantastic read!

The weakest of the entire series. It was boring over long stretches, but I did not want to leave the series unfinished.

I found this a very confusing novel to read, and while it was very descriptive, it was also very vague. I completed this book for a book club read. Only one member in our book club liked the book, but we had a great discussion about topics the author brought up. Would I recommend it to my friends? Only if they don't mind vague stories.

What a fantastic novel! The first time I finished this novel as an audiobook. It was good. DO NOT DO THAT! READ IT.

I missed so much listening to it. Now that I have actually read the book, it will stay with me.

So many twists and turns, this novel is time well spent.

a little sappy

Fantastic novel! It is scary to think about what the future may bring and how close we already are regarding some of the issues described in this story.

The Power of Language!

Fantastc kid‘s book!

eye-opening read. FB is not your friend!

This was certainly one of the worst books I have read so far this year.

So glad I finally read this novel.

Must-read for anybody who wants to understand what is happening in the US and the dangers that lie ahead if we do nothing.

Prophetic and eye-opening

Great book! Reads more like a family memoir. It touches on a variety of topics, such as generational trauma, belonging, antisemitism under German occupation and now, and how families are affected by the trauma of Holocaust survivors.

Fantastic book to read to start the year. Gives you a lot to think about and makes you want to look at your life and the people in it a little closer.

A reminder that the fight for racial justice is not over until Black parents don't need to have “the talk” with their children anymore.

predictable and rather flat.

Outstanding read for anyone who wants explore and learn more about how traumatic experiences inform our decisions and life choices, particularly childhood trauma.

lost interest

Very important read, but so detailed that I lost interest and it became harder and harder to pick it up.

While I appreciate the author's efforts to provide guidance for parents on raising self-sufficient children, I was unable to continue reading her story because of the author's own privilege. There are lots of parents in Texas and anywhere in the US who cannot put $30 in jar for their children and take a dollar out every time the child does not complete a chore. Having lived in Texas for many year, I can also ensure others that a pool in one's backyard might be common in a wealthy Dallas suburb, but is not the norm across the state. And there are plenty of teenagers who have to find summer jobs, not because they want to buy a car when they are old enough, but because they need to help pay the family bills.

Not my cup of tea. I kept asked ng myself why would I care. I don't share that sense of humor either.
