5 ⭐️ for Sam Gamgee!

Though a lot of it was predictable, I absolutely loved reading this book. I don't know what it is about it but I thought throughout the whole book that I would give it 3 or 3.5 stars but the last few chapters changed my rating, it moved me.

I didn't know what to expect going into this book, and I found that it a tale of loss, depression, family wounds... Claire is a young woman lost, she has so many wounds but doesn't see how much they affect her, probably because the people around her underestimate her. She and the others think her wound lesser than everyone else's because they seem not as important as one might think they should be. This work of fiction is so well done that you lose yourself thinking it's real. Claire deserved better, as does every woman who's ever felt the way she did.

It was the perfect book at the perfect time for me. I needed a palate cleanser and this book was exactly what I needed. It was so cozy, the weather is very chill at the moment so this book made the perfect afternoon/evening companion. It was predictable, very easy to read, cozy, all those things that might sound like describing a “bad” book to some people but those kinds of books are so useful when you need a break from heaviness.
