This adequate ending to a truly titanic tale did it's best to wrap up myriad loose ends and character arcs. Like so many of it's characters, it could have been better, but it could have been so much worse. I'm going to miss those Malazans and friends and enemies and acquaintances and hangers-on and poets and gods. (Maybe not the poets...)
Contrived story, unbelievable characters and events.
Meandering dump of over-detailed case files
An essay in disguise with boring, forced development and idealized , inhuman personalities
Plodding pace, too much internal dialog of the same topics
